Richard M. Launer, M.D.

Dr. Launer portraitDr. Launer is a Twin Cities native. He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating summa cum laude. When he returned to the Twin Cities, he earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Launer completed ophthalmology residencies at the Minneapolis Veterans Center, St. Paul Ramsey Hospital, and University of Minnesota Hospitals.

Dr. Launer has earned a teaching appointment as an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota. He is also a Surgical Consultant/Instructor at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Dr. Launer is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Launer is also a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) and The International Society of Refractive Surgeons (ISRS).

Dr Launer practiced with Progressive Eye Care from 1985-2011. He currently practices with ProEyeCare Associates which he established in November 2011.

Dr. Launer specializes in no-stitch Clear Cornea Cataract Surgery, implantable collamer lenses, advanced intraocular lenses and general ophthalmology.
